THE MESSAGES OF FOLK SONGS IN TONTEMBOAN LANGUAGE AT KAPOYA VILLAGE
Abstrak
Message is a short communication sent from one person to another or a central theme or ideas communication. According to Oxford Dictionary, message is a spoken and written communication or a record which is sent to the receivers that cannot be dialed directly. This journal is about to dig the Message of Folk Songs in Tontemboan Language at Kapoya Village. In doing this research, the researcher found a fact that these Folk Songs in Tontemboan language was reraly sung by people of Kapoya Village. People in Kapoya Village did not realized that all lyrics of the Folk Songs in Tontemboan Language were not only as entertaining songs but also this Folk Songs brought the messages such as morals, and education to the people of Kapoya especially for young generation as nation’s future. Focus on this research is (1) What are the messages of Folk Songs in Tontemboan Language at Kapoya Village? (2) When can the Folk Songs be sung? (3) What is the best way to preserve the Folk Songs in Tontemboan Language at Kapoya Village?. Therefore, the researcher looked for the answer of each question in doing her research. The researcher used the Qualitative Method in this research that is the method which obliged the researcher to do directly as a key instrument on in this case, the researcher herself collected the data such as observation, interview and documentation. At the last chapter, the researcher completed the data from the available information, and the she summarized it by using the method from Miles and Huberman as a research method. After collecting the data and information about the Folk songs in Tontemboan Language and by observation and interview, the researcher found the indication that the cause of the singing these Folk Songs rarely, because of the influence of modern songs and Manado Malay songs that were mostly store in the society. Therefore, it needed to work together from the government and the people of Kapoya Village in preserving the Folk Songs in Tontemboan Language at Kapoya Village. Finally, by knowing the messages of Folk songs in Tontemboan Language, the people of Kapoya Village would continuously sing songs because by singing those Folk Songs, the people would have took care and preserved the culture of our nations.
