AN ANALYSIS OF THE MEANING AND MESSAGE ON MASSAMPER’S SONG LYRIC “SUMAKE PATO”

Abstrak

This research is intended to know the meaning and message contained in Masamper’s song lyric “Sumake Pato” and to know what are the meanings of life and what are the moral message carried by that song .The method used in this study is descriptive qualitative. The writer employs himself to collect the data by reading whole lyrics of the songs contained and listening to the songs itself, marking the sentences that matters. After all of this the writer concludes about the meaning and message of the lyric “Sumake Pato”. The moral message we can take those are (1) in this life, we must hold on to the religion that we believe it, (2) in this life, we can get the credibility from other if we have a responsibility attitude. All of the moral message above can give influence to the hearer directly or indirectly. Based on the result of this research, the researcher makes some suggestion for the reader who interested with song. (1) Do not seen the meaning of the words or languages in the song based on the lexical meaning or meaning in dictionary (2) Song is kind of literary work so the words or languages that are used in the song different with daily conversation. For the next research who interest in the study of semantics, they can analyze the meaning of the words or sentences in the other lyrics song and poem.
